For Ken, this culinary journey started fifty-four years ago in the kitchens of Marie Callenders restaurants. It was there that a lifelong love for scratch-made cooking, artisan pie baking, and traditional American comfort took root. That foundation of culinary craft laid the groundwork for everything to come.
Twenty-six years ago, life brought Ken together with his soulmate, Roxane. United by a shared devotion to family, horses, and honest hospitality, they set out to build a life centered on hard work, warm traditions, and sharing their table with others.
The Tenaja Valley Legacy
Rocking K Ranch is a real place nestled in the picturesque foothills of Tenaja Valley. On this working ranch, Ken and Roxane raised many World Class Paint and Quarter Halter Horses alongside a beautiful, growing family.
Through hundreds of horses, six children, thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, the ranch became a haven of shared blessings. Deciding it was time to share these blessings beyond their immediate family, Ken and Roxane opened Rocking K Ranch Steakhouse and Bakery to create a place designed to inspire, relax, and bring people together over upper two-thirds choice hand-cut steaks and homemade desserts.
